To get good results....yes it's going to hurt a bit. But, it should be more than comfortable.....and it's super quick! Alongside my Alexandrite laser, i use a cryo cooler which blows cool air onto the skin at the same time as the laser. Making it much more comfortable. Think if it as a small elastic band being pinged onto your skin.
Some machines use a pain free option. In my opinion this isn't as powerful and takes too many sessions.
This is a tricky one as I would like to say YES. But, everyone is different. Certain areas on your body are different. Your Chin for example can be a hormonal area. Over time you might sprout lovely new hair follicles.
Very fine hair with not much colour can also be tricky to get.
I am confident I can get you looking hair free, for good, but over the years I cannot guarantee you might need another top up session here or there.
Personally, I haven't put a razor to my bikini line in 8 years!!
So for this reason I cannot promise permanent but not far off!!
Your hair is in different growth cycles. Every one reacts differently. The lighter your skin and the darker your hair the better. This is a winning combination. Some people find their under arms are almost hair free in 4 sessions, some people take up to 8. Some bikini lines are stubborn and can take up to 10 in rare cases. But I tell everyone, think 8 sessions, if it's less it's a bonus. Different areas also react differently.
From the very first session you will notice the benefits. Whether you have shaving rash, ingrown hairs or just fast growing hair, your hair will fall out and grow back very slowly, a bit like a wax, only you can shave in between appointments. Result!!
Because not all hair strands are growing at the same stage. Several sessions are needed to catch the hair in the Anagen-growth stage. Which is where it is attached to the root.
ANAGEN STAGE:
This is where the laser is most effective for hair removal. At this stage the hair strand is connected to the Papilla which is connected to blood vessels enabling it to grow. When the melanin (pigment-colour) in the hair gets heated to a high temperature, it also heats the Papilla to such a temperature that it kills it, destroying the root, preventing any new growth.
CATAGEN STAGE:
The hair is starting to detach from the Papilla. While the laser might do some damage at the stage the results aren't going to be as effective.
TELEGEN STAGE:
At this final stage the hair growth stops and is completely detached.
